Cleaning & Disinfection

elena

Cleaning is defined as the mechanical removal (eg by rubbing) of organic contaminants (eg blood, tissues) and inorganic contaminants (eg dust) from a surface, from a tool, or from hands resulting in a reduction of microbial load.
Disinfection is the process by which inactivation or destruction of pathogenic microorganisms is achieved but not their resistant forms (eg seeds, cysts) with chemicals * (eg alcohol) or natural methods (eg high temperature) on objects, tools and surfaces.

As a procedure, cleaning is necessary to precede disinfection and even antiseptic and sterilization. Without the cleaning we will not have the desired result of disinfection of the respective space.
